Want To Take a Photography Quiz?

Having a little fun in our garden today.

Can you tell me what time it was? And my aperture? And maybe even my ISO and shutter speed? Which direction was the sun in relation to him?

And the extra credit question, what is he holding in his hands?

Have fun! I've got a little something for whoever gets the most correct answers! Post your responses before 5PM PST on Friday, February 19th, 2010!

Oh Katrina!
I love a puzzle, but I can't find a way to cheat!
Time: 4:00
Aperture: 1.8
ISO: 200
Shutter speed (do I HAVE to guess this one?!!!): 1/250
Sun direction: coming over his right shoulder and a little in front - his 1 o'clock.

Time: 4:00
Aperature: 2.2
ISO: 400
Shutter Speed: 1/250
Sun: To his right and lower in the sky, hence the time of day.

Hmmm. I say great late afternoon sun, which would be to his right, as his right arm is lighted well.

Time: i'll be different and say 4:30.
Ap: 2.2
ISO: 400
SS: beats me...1/250

Could there be a roly-poly in his hands?

Ok I'm going to say from the outset I am the WORST at this but I don't care here I go.

Time 10:00 am
Shutter speed: 1/500
ISO: 100 (honestly if you say it's something crazy like 800 or more I'll be shocked I just don't see noise!)
Sun: Definitely in front of his right shoulder I would say his 2 o'clock

Bonus question: well if he's anything like my little guy I would say dirt AND a worm!

What fun Katrina.
Time: late afternoon, 4:35
1/100 sec.
ISO 400
Sun is coming from the left side of picture, so Ian's right shoulder, slightly in front and he is holding a frog:)

I'm guessing the time is as the sun is setting, which, for around here is 5:15 pm or so.
Aperture: 2.8
SS: 1/125
Sun direction: from the West... oh, in relation to him, to his right.
Holding a clump of dirt.

I love quizzes!
I'm going to schmooze you a bit and say Ian's eyelashes are to die for!

Time: late afternoon- how about 4:37pm
Aperture: very big- 1.8
ISO: 400
Shutter speed: how does one know this? Is there really a way you could tell this by looking? I'm guessing 1/250

Sun is on his right and in slightly in front.

In his hand? I'll go with a worm.

i'll give it a whirl....

iso 400
early morning as that is your favorite light
50mm 1.4 lens (for extra credit..heh)
the light to the left of the photo. passing over his right shoulder so it is behind your left shoulder
ian is coveting a worm...he loves bugs and i have no clue what aperture is yet, so i won't guess that (hence the extra credit on the lens)

I don't have any guesses for the quiz, but I'm admiring your date stamp in the corner. Care to share your source?

Oops, I missed the bonus question. I was sure there was a worm but now I'm thinking frog. So frog it is!

Shutter Sisters.

Quiz time?

time of day? morning, around 10:00am (cloudy, I'm thinking)
aperture: 2.2 (Love that shallow DOF!)
ISO: 200
Shutter speed: 1/250
sun: straight from his right side
bonus: he's holding a grasshopper

Time: 17:00
Aperture: 1.4
ISO: 400
Shutter Speed: 125
Light from the left side of the picture, lighten his right shoulder.
I guess he is holding a worm.
Love this quiz! -Claudett
