A Three Lens Weekend

What a weekend! I used three different lenses this weekend, so you know we were busy!

Shea's car was stolen. With a full tank of gas, so I'm guessing it went a long way before we discovered it missing and the police report was filed. We are both sad and a bit disappointed (thank you yoga for taking the anger away).

We spent a marvelous Saturday (before realizing the car was stolen) with great friends. One of those all day unexpected extravaganzas complete with great food, conversation, and entertained kids! So thankful for wonderful friends. I got to try my hand at soccer photos for the first time!

I had a bit of fun. This is probably a little different than most parents want of their kids! It made me think of Tara Whitney's In Betweens.

Today was our annual trip to Apple Hill which, of course, meant a little stop at Jack Russell Brewery for a pint. Now fall can begin!

If you are stopping by from LOAD, welcome! Say hello if you have a chance! Everyone who does is going into a little impromptu drawing for a pass class to Your Life: Captured Through The Lens! Class starts November 2nd. Leave a comment by Wednesday 10/6 at 10PM Pacific time telling me what you like most around here! Not doing LOAD? Well, I guess I'll let you enter too :).

Hi, Katrina!
I just listened to your phone interview with Lain! I'm off to crop something close - your class looks great! I'm putting your blog in my "favorites."

hi Katrina, my name is Melinda and I'm doing LOAD with Lain Ehman. What a great interview, so much resonated with me. As a busy mom photographing three little kids as I go about all the activities of the day, I appreciated your "photo a day" idea. Just one. Of one of them or of one thing- looking where the action or emotion is. My story is going so quickly I want to catch it! Im glad you "recreate" it too. I have to. And I would love, love, love to get a better grasp on my camera to get better pictures. I have much to learn. Thanks!

I'm a LOADster, but have been following you on Twitter for quite a while. Love that you're participating with us and I look forward to seeing the rest of your layouts. After browsing your blog, I enjoyed seeing your photo rejects. It's good to know that even a great photographer can have a few duds too. Your little boy is soooo cute, even when he looks like he's being abducted by aliens ;)

OOOhhh! This is so cool! Lain sent me, and I wish I'd known about you sooner.
I'm going to have to do a lot of poking around.
Looks like you've got a lot of good tips and ideas here.
Time to explore!

OH I just love LOAD but could not fit it into my schedule this month. You make me so jealous of those that were able to join LOAD. I am sure it is a ton of fun.

I am doing LOAD this go around. It's my 2nd time. And one of the things I've loved the most about LOAD is when Lain introduces us to some great talents. Enter you. I love your website. Your photography and perspective is awesome! Thanks for the chance to win something. You go in my favorites for sure.

Katrina you know I love your soccer shot ... it's my kind of soccer shot (shhh, don't tell my boys, although I think they've figured it out by now - along with the feet/cleat/grass shots!). So sorry about the car.
